Green Infrastructure Guide
The
Green Infrastructure Guide project was intended to increase the awareness
and consideration of urban and community forest resources (green infrastructure)
in the community planning and development processes. The primary product
of the project was a user-friendly handbook describing how green infrastructure
(natural resources) are just as important to a community's quality of life
as grey infrastructure (roads and sewers).
The Guide offers recommendations on preserving and enhancing natural resources in the development process to protect ground water recharge, reduce the risk of flooding, and minimize the urban "heat island" effect, to name a few. More Info
