Monmouth County Smart Growth Project
In April 2005, PlanSmart NJ began work on our third smart growth regional planning project. We are part of the project team for Monmouth County’s Bayshore Regional Strategic Development / Redevelopment Plan, funded by a state Smart Future Planning Grant.
This project will be a collaborative planning effort, involving the ten towns along the Raritan Bayshore, which will develop strategies and policies to address collective local concerns and provide the analytical foundation for receiving State Plan Endorsement for the region. Key planning issues in the study area include downtown revitalization, redevelopment, transportation and transit, and environmental protection.
PlanSmart NJ will assist in analyzing current land use, economic, and infrastructure conditions, identifying potential areas for future development and redevelopment, formulating and evaluating alternative planning scenarios, and facilitating public outreach.
